Word and the World: Media, Justice, and Catholic Social Teaching in our Times
Thursday November 20th

Word and the World: Media, Justice, and Catholic Social Teaching in our times
As we reflect on the World Meeting of Popular Movements in Rome (October 2025) and Pope Francis’ continued call for a “culture of encounter,” this conversation will explore the role of media in shaping social consciousness, advancing justice, and sustaining faith-based organizing. We hope to bring together voices from across media landscapes—traditional print journalism, social media and podcasting, and Latino/a news and commentary—to discern how communication can both inform and transform.
This gathering will provide a prayerful and dynamic space for leaders, organizers, and communicators to engage in dialogue rooted in Catholic Social Teaching and inspired by the movements for justice emerging in our Church and world.
